We welcome you to enjoy the Territory Taste Festival. This is our third year and we will endeavour to make it as easy as possible for all visitors to enjoy our event. We will treat you courteously and with respect and expect the same behaviour from you in return. We also welcome your questions and feedback via email: firstname.lastname@example.org We are also happy to receive your feedback via the feedback forms at the ticketing office located at the event during the weekend. We hope you enjoy your weekend of feast and fun.
The Territory Taste Festival aims to be an environmentally sustainable event. The Territory Taste Festival event plan promotes paddock to plate methodologies and in doing so want to ensure we protect the Territory environment and promote a sustainable attitude towards our food future. The Territory Taste Festival uses a waste management system and encourages stalls to supply compostable plates and cutlery. We ask visitors to help in assisting us run more sustainable event by walking, cycling, carpool or catching a bus to the event and try to re-use or recycle while you are here. The planet will thank you for it.
A drop-off area will be available at the front of the Darwin Port Cruise Ship Terminal for families, older people and people with disability. Drivers will then need to find a place to park outside of the event site. Parking is available at the Darwin Waterfront parking station and also street parking is available at both the Darwin Waterfront Precinct and Darwin CBD. Pay and display parking meters may apply for all on-street and off street parking areas so please adhere to the parking signs. Strictly Prohibited Advertising Material
Flyers, advertising, discounts, vouchers, signage or sampling products from people/businesses NOT exhibiting at the event is illegal and strictly prohibited. If material is found within the event site that has been distributed without purchasing a retail stall you will be followed up and charged a retail stall fee of $1,500 by Territory Taste Festival event management.
A dedicated walkway has been developed linking the Darwin Waterfront Precinct to the Darwin CBD via a pedestrian bridge from the end of Smith Street over Kitchener Drive and joining with a glass-sided lift. You can then follow the boardwalk from the Darwin Waterfront Precinct to the event. You can also use the Damoe Ra walkway steps from the Esplanade near Parliament House to take you down near to the Deckchair Cinema. You can then follow Anchorage Court to the event entrance.
Bicycles, Scooters and Skateboards
For the safety of others, skateboards, scooters and hover boards are not permitted inside the event. The CBD and Darwin Waterfront area have a shared pathways policy, so bike riders please give way to pedestrians and walk your bike when pathways are busy.
The Darwin City Bus Depot is a very convenient option to get to and from the festival if you don’t want to worry about parking. Click here to see the timetables.
Bottled water will also be available for purchase from stall holders within the Darwin Port Cruise Ship Terminal.
This event is located mainly outdoors. Whilst there will be shade available, we advise you to be sun smart – Sunscreen will be available for your use at the event.
The Territory Taste Festival is customer focused when it comes to purchasing food or goods. You will need to bring along cash, and your personal debit or credit card for all purchases and then simply tap, swipe or insert into the EFTPOS tablet just as you would at any shop or restaurant. Limited cash will be held at stall holders, ATM’s are available at the Waterfront and in the CBD… so better to come prepared.
Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated and management reserves the right to refuse entry or remove patrons from the event. Management accepts no responsibility for any theft or damage to personal property. Please behave accordingly so the overall festival is a success for many years to come.
Dogs and other pets
Please leave your pets at home, as no animals other than trained assistance animals are permitted within the event and any pet in the Darwin Waterfront Precinct must be kept on a lead at all times. It will be busy and very unfair on our furry friends to have to cope with so many humans having a good time.
Lost & Found
The Ticketing and Information Booth will act as a ‘lost & found’ point as well as a lost person meeting location. Any lost property found during the event should be dropped at the information booth.
There will be roaming St Johns officers around the event site and a first aid station.
The Territory Taste Festival is a 100% smoke-free event. There will be a sectioned off bar area for smokers. We also ask that smokers butt out in the bins provided.
Alcohol in Public Places
The Territory Taste Festival is a licensed event site. Consumption of alcohol in other public areas is prohibited.
Security will operate throughout the event and be stationed near the information booth from 10am to 10pm during the event.
